But it’s then revealed Knuckles’ Mom had another kid with his step-dad. And you think this maybe would be used as a way to get Knuckles to calm down and realize that he has a new family member to fight for even if his dad is gone. But no it’s just used for a lame joke. Mehhhhhhh

Although I will admit I think in this instance I wish they toned down the jokes. There’s this scene where Knux breaks up a fight between Julie-Su and Vector, he opens up about his insecurities and how much he’s hated what’s changed about Angel Island.

And on top of that, we learn that since Knuckles came back from the Afterlife not only did he lose his chaos powers, but now any chaos energy drains his strength. Basically becoming his own kryptonite. That’s such a simple yet ingenious way to add weight to that sacrifice.
