I know it's not ideal for efficiency to keep windows open, but some crispy cool night air through the windows+seat warmers is just such a lovely feeling while driving. Happy autumn, everyone!

Maryland is just rocking the service plazas these days. Massage chairs, Dyson Blades in the restrooms, Peet's at Cumberland House, whole food courts of options - even if some of these are only open during the day, they really put the "service" in service plaza!

I love when people ask me how I met my friends. In this case, "Oh, we met at the press site at KSC watching Juno leave for Jupiter." Now I'm sitting here in her mama's house, right at home in a place I love, marveling at how a chance meeting can make a whole new family.

Got home yesterday as a zombie who couldn't sleep or stay awake, and then my "computer" arrives from repairs - actually an empty box that had clearly been opened and re-taped. So impressed with @RazerSupport, unfortunately, they use FedEx for the shipping parts.

While landing at JFK at dawn is super inconvenient if heading towards Manhattan, it also provides one of the most beautiful sunrises on a clear day. Everything in life is a trade-off. That one was pretty cool!

Bernie the badass driver got us home so quickly! Only 1.5 hours right through midtown and the tunnels. How you know a true NYC driver - so aggressive, so safe, so smooth, and so fast even in hideous traffic. Wonderful to be home, even if dizzy with exhaustion! @genejm29

OMG, the weather is absolute perfection! What a wonderful treat to arrive to. Will be strange to feel my "normal" sort of sun when it finishes rising - the only thing I disliked about NM was how ragingly hot it was even with cool temps. Amazing it's the same sun!

Boarded early, have some good reading from @BaalShemDov to do, and ready to get home! Bye, NM - you rock and if I didn't love NJ so very much, I'd be extremely sad to leave. But we'll be back to do the 15000 things on my must-do list for this vast, incredible state!

Have no idea how I went for 2 weeks without having gymnastics Worlds spoiled despite endless alerts. Other than some work that must be done and fetching my car from storage, I am sooooooo excited to spend all day tomorrow catching up on days of competition!

It's a damn revelation. Boys' pants are the same size as my women's ones but they have all these enormous pockets that even fit smartphones - proving they could give us those. And they're so comfy, to boot!

Women's hiking pants options have become so lame. Who wants to hike in tights or harem pants?! No protection, no pockets. So I bought Boy Scout pants. For boys. And they fit great, have giant pockets, are convertible to LONG shorts, and cost way less than most good pants.

Always so odd flying through a smaller airport. There are 2 flights this late. No lines for anything, came in way too early. Impressed there is still one bar and one newsstand open. Dreaming of taking off my hiking boots. Only 6-10 hours to go in our day...

Saw a guy in an Artemis shirt and we told him we liked it. He works for a space company, turns out. And he's on our flight. The "Land of Enchantment" seems to be the "Land where you meet space geeks every place you go." 😂

Mentioned to a gallery owner that we love NM and it's weird how almost no one talks about the state at all. He said, "Shhhh, don't tell people about it!" Oops. 😂 Also: "We're the state the weather people stand in front of." He was great!
