Jonathan Mendoza Iserte compared the lack of global consensus on data governance to the evolution of aviation safety, stating that, just as we haven't abandoned airplanes, we shouldn't avoid technology, but rather responsibly reduce its risks.

Fernanda Campagnucci emphasized that in the fields of open data and AI, it is essential to rigorously demonstrate the benefits before adoption, as the risks are often already evident as seen in the case of Amsterdam.

📃 Catherine Bielick stated that we are at an inflection point in medical innovation, driven by artificial intelligence, which is advancing faster than experts and regulators can keep up, bringing both promising benefits and significant risks that need to be investigated.

📗 Regarding medical innovation, Catherine exemplifies today's reality, which englobes computer vision, genomic machine learning, early warning systems, digital pathology, and mobile health integration.

🔷️Juan David Gutiérrez highlighted that Latin America already has tools for algorithmic impact assessment, such as those developed by the University of Foggia and the IDB, and advocated for the appreciation of these regional initiatives from a public policy perspective.

♦️Juliano explained that systemic risk, in the financial context, is linked to fiduciary responsibility—trust in the banking system and in currency as a promise—and that the interconnectedness between agents makes the system vulnerable to knock-on effects in the event of default

🔷️ Ahmad Bhinder explained that rather than focusing on national policies, his group analyzed how violating AI principles can create systemic risks to human rights, organizing these principles into six risk categories, such as transparency deficits and privacy violations.

🔶️ Nicolo Zingales highlighted that digital ecosystems involve the interconnection of diverse agents and that systemic risks in these contexts affect not just one actor, but the entire digital market.

Fernando Naegele explained that, to advance the analysis of the suitability of generative AI for the LGPD, it is first necessary to clearly define the concept of transparency used, highlighting that this principle is connected to others, such as explainability and accountability.

📗"The AI platforms analyzed fail to clearly indicate practices such as the use of contractual clauses for international data transfer, the destinations of personal data, and the technical security measures adopted, compromising the transparency required by the LGPD" - Daniel

📘 Daniel Dore Lage explained that his research focuses on the transparency of user-facing artificial intelligence platforms, analyzing how these platforms meet the requirements of the LGPD, especially regarding interactions with personal data subjects.

📙Caitlin Mulholland highlighted the importance of the principles of transparency and purpose in the use of narrative artificial intelligence, pointing to the opacity present in the privacy policies of these applications as a central challenge.

🔶️ Nayla Winter explained that Mercado Livre has a technical and cultural governance structure for the safe use of data and AI, highlighting the Data Champions program, which trains employees to promote best practices throughout the company.

🔷️Marcelo Riva highlighted that Mercado Livre uses AI and analysis of more than 5,000 variables per transaction to prevent fraud, prohibited products, and money laundering.
