There’s clear buy-in from India’s business community for a fair, mutually beneficial EU-India trade deal. The impetus is now on political negotiators to iron out remaining obstacles & get the deal over the line.

📹 Watch: This week in Brussels, I chaired prep for the EU trade mission to India, took part in my first trilogue negotiations around boosting farmers’ role in the food supply chain and held stakeholder meetings with Irish farming groups, distillers & tourism reps.

🇪🇺🇮🇪 Today in the EP, I met with a delegation from Latin America who shared their perspective on EU-Mercosur relations & proposed trade deal. I explained the concerns of Irish farmers around reciprocity & standards and we explored pragmatic paths towards greater cooperation.

🇮🇪🤝Delighted to meet an @east_border delegation in Brussels today ahead of Ireland's presidency of the EU. They also outlined plans for their 50th anniversary next year - celebrating five decades of true cross-border cooperation.
