Our recent study validates a smartphone-based motion capture system, OpenCap, for lower extremity kinematics during RTS tasks in an injured population. OpenCap's user-friendly interface and free software offer accessibility beyond traditional labs. https://t.co/W2wZRaB8u3

How do you objectively measure cognitive function? 🧠 Interesting paper with practical applications on how to incorporate cognitive load in return to sport testing 🏃♂️ Seems like this can be incorporated with regular force plate testing and provide valuable information

This was part of the great work of Camille King, a masters student I had the privilege of working with during her time at UNC. Congrats, Camille!
New paper by @CourtneyChaaban & @DarinPadua using inertial sensors to assess impact magnitude & symmetry in females during return to sport tests! Impact magnitude differed by tasks, and most tasks were symmetrical. Read the article here:

Amazing work from @CourtneyChaaban and @DarinPadua! Lots of evidence calling for optimizing how clinicians assess return to sport/play for injuries, ACL in particular. Consider adding dual-task conditions to your return to sport tests! Here's how to incorporate them.

Proud alum of this program. Check it out if you’re looking for a sports residency!
We had a handful of sports resident applicants need to drop out. Anyone out there who didn't place that would be interested in an end of August start at @ATIPT Sports PT residencies in Greenville, SC or Birmingham AL in partnership with AndrewsSM? @kcrehabexpert

Capturing & modelling full-body motion of athletes is hard. Really hard if you want accurate, valid & repeatable data. 🧵

I worked with a masters student yesterday to pilot her protocol to collect biomechanics on volleyball players. We used OpenCap then downloaded the data a few minutes later. She couldn’t stop smiling. It was contagious. I’m excited for the future of motion capture!
