Our Working Paper Series event is back with a presentation from UofT PhD candidate Cate Alexander. Cate will be sharing her presentation, "The Biases of YouTube Context Panels: Digging Through the Internet Archive and Deconstructing Black Boxes," on Nov 28th, 4:30pm on Zoom.

The WPS brings together PhD students from different universities to hear about exciting academic research in the area of archival studies. More specific details about the talk will be available soon on our website.

The exhibition presents archival material never before seen in Toronto, including digitized Super 8 and open-reel video, photos, letters, newspaper clippings, & admin documents, providing a glimpse into the collaborative & feminist work of those who brought the festival to life.

Recently celebrating 50 years, the 1973 Women & Film International Festival remains an overlooked event in Canadian film history. The festival showcased films made by women, such as Alice Guy-Blaché, Leni Riefenstahl, Alanis Obomsawin, and Agnès Varda.
