What if pumping up her accolades and promoting the hero myth were part of creating unrealistic expectations? What if people can think she had a moment of weakness — not that she’s weak — and it’s ok? We’re missing some serious middle ground & it’s part of the issue… 2cents
Imagine winning 6 Olympic medals, fighting to make sure no one else is sexually abused like you were, literally inventing new skills in your sport (some of which if you misstep you could end up paralyzed)- and having a bunch of keyboard warriors call you weak. 🤔

Absolute chaos at the #Olympics Men’s Triathlon as the starting gun is fired…with a boat sitting in the way of half of the competitors. Race just restarted now, but only after half the men had swum a fair bit! @Tokyo2020

Domestic partnerships: mostly interrupting your partner to force them to look at your shared pet. You do this as if it were an emergency. You do this with a raised voice and an unpleasant intensity. Pet looks the same as yesterday and five minutes ago. That doesn’t matter. Look.
