A couple of years ago (before the boom of generative AI) he left the company, but now when we need an illustration we are using midjourney and dall-e with very good results AI will not take your job, but will take tasks people don’t want to do anymore.

I used to have an in-house designer/illustrator when we were doing a lot of augmented and virtual reality work, as part of the tasks he helped us with there was the ocassional custom illustration/concept art for a project pitch or discovery session.
