The first statue of Queen Elizabeth II to be unveiled after her death is now in place at York Minister. The statue, by Richard Bossons, was unveiled by King Charles III on his visit to the city. The King said it was 'a tribute to a life of extraordinary service and devotion.'

Horses that will pull the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II through London are being prepared for the event by having flowers and flags thrown at them while the military replicates the loud sobbing they could hear on the final journey.

Queen Elizabeth II has been laid to rest in the King George VI Memorial Chapel at Windsor, next to Prince Philip. They were buried in a private service on Monday evening. They lie in peace with King George VI, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and Princess Margaret.

The fifteen minute vigil will take place on Saturday, September 17th 2022.
