Well it's official! After taking the last ten days off to spend time with family, friends, and celebrate Thanksgiving, I finished my #nanowrimo challenge today and crossed the 50k mark! The book isn't quite finished yet, but I'm so in love with this little story. ❤️

In 2019 I wrote my first book during #NaNoWriMo. I published it about a year later and it's still one of my proudest successes. Since then, I have written and published another book, and written 2 more. Today begins a new challenge and I'm excited to see where it goes. ❤️

If you do end up hitting that sweet spot of 50k, make sure you take advantage of all the goodies that the official NaNoWriMo site gives out! Keep in mind some of them have deadlines that can turnaround quickly. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ (7/9)

Tap into the resource of your local regional group, & see if any libraries or bookstores have support groups, meetups, write-ins, or swag. Connecting via the official nano site to your region & finding other local writers can be a huge help! Find yours! ⬇️⬇️⬇️ (6/9)

Don't get bogged down in details, but make sure to take breaks. Eat, drink, nap, rest. Step away for some time to keep yourself from wearying. Let yourself have fun! When I'm stuck, I bounce around to a new scene. There's no "how" to do this - just... write! ⬇️⬇️⬇️ (5/9)

Keep moving. If you need to research things later, just put a note like [famous civil war battle] & keep going. Dedicate your time to the words on the page. Allow yourself to write badly. First drafts are always shite- accept that! Just keep moving. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ (4/9)

To hit 50k in a month, you have to average 1,667 words per day. Utilize the nano wordsprints twitter account @NaNoWordSprints & do them when you can. Sprints are often hugely successful ways to boost word count. If you plan & outline, try to have it perfected ⬇️⬇️⬇️ (2/9)
