Michele is having a fabulous time with Westside first graders today. These sweet kiddos are adding elaborative thinking by talking about the chores they want their robots to do for them. Who wants a robot to fold the laundry, wash the dishes, and cook dinner for them?

This is one of my favorite beginning of the year lessons. 1- Survey students to get to know their likes/dislikes about topics. 2- Group the information to form categories for central ideas. 3- Move their sticky notes into the evidence boxes to support each central idea.
