Progress never feels fast enough because you constantly see others succeed without seeing their grind. The more grind you put in, the greater the expectation of results which then risks exposing you. It's why the most brutal win quote is "I don't even play this game".
People genuinely have a natural expectation of things happening faster, even when they try to tell themselves otherwise. When doing the grind work doesn't manifest itself into visible progress within the intuited timeframe, there's a worry that no progress is being made at all.
