On Monday, June 30, 2025, Contra Costa Fire will conduct an approximately two acre prescribed fire on Hunsaker Canyon. The prescribed fire is part of the Lafayette-Walnut Creek Shaded Fuel Break project.

Quick response from ConFire and CALFIRE units has stopped forward progress and knocked down the fire. Southbound Kirker Pass still closed with firefighting crews and equipment working. Avoid the area.
