Building @OpenLume : AI Tutor for Study Groups & Teams
London
Joined February 2010
Learning alone is hard. Even harder when you don’t know what to learn next or how well you’re doing. That’s why we built AI-powered Study Groups, the most requested feature on @OpenLume , and now the primary pillar of our platform. What makes these groups different: 🤖 AI

I have probably started 20 online courses and finished… maybe 1. When we launched @OpenLume as an AI tutor for developers, users still dropped off halfway. So we spoke to them. The message was clear: "I stay motivated when I feel accountability". 🤼 That’s why we rebuilt

92% of people quit coding courses alone. I built @OpenLume to see if public accountability can fix that. I am sick of pretending I’m disciplined enough to just “stay consistent” alone. Apparently, 92% of people give up on self-guided courses before finishing. So I built a

First i hated @tailwindcss . Then i hated it even more. Now I can’t build without it. Shipping fast has never felt this good. ⚡️

As a developer, I never thought I’d spend evenings editing TikTok videos. 🕺 But here we are. 🤷♂️ When I started building @OpenLume , I assumed good tech + a useful product would naturally bring users. Turns out... that’s not how it works anymore. People don’t want ads. They

Learning solo is tough. You never really know if you’re ahead, behind or just… stuck. That’s why we built Study Groups in @OpenLume. You can now see group progress vs your own progress, so you stay motivated without losing track of where you stand. 👉 No messy chats. 👉 No

Many are asking if they can move their Next.js projects from Vercel to Replit? Yes! - Go to Import then GitHub - enter repo URL - Agent will take care of the rest It will set up the dev and deployment environments! For companies moving lots of work, happy to help + discount.

Best size for a coding study group? We cap @OpenLume Study Groups at 8 to keep things small and focused. Enough for momentum, but room if a few go quiet. Some folks want bigger. What’s your ideal number for real learning? 👇

Your product doesn’t need a Hollywood trailer. It needs the courage to go live. Meta’s live demo glitched this week. AI cooking skipped steps, gesture controls froze. And honestly? That’s great. I’d take a real, slightly messy demo over a perfectly edited Apple-style video any

Never learn alone again. That’s the problem we set out to solve. Learning to code solo can feel like shouting into the void: ❌ Hard to stay consistent ❌ Easy to lose motivation ❌ No one to share wins with Now you can create a Study Group inside @OpenLume (or join one)

Ever felt stuck halfway through a tutorial? You follow along step by step… then suddenly it stops making sense. Or worse, you finish the tutorial but can’t actually apply what you learned. That’s the problem with traditional tutorials: they treat everyone the same. But

Being a bootstrapped founder comes with a strange disadvantage: You risk looking cringe on LinkedIn. VC-funded startups can hire agencies, run paid campaigns and polish every post. As a bootstrapper, if you don’t market → you die. And the only cost-efficient strategy? 👉 Make

Pretty annoyed with @brevo_official right now. They add an unsubscribe button to every email, even transactional ones like password reset or orders. If users click it, important comms break. Transactional ≠ marketing. Other providers handle this fine with a transactional flag.

I am thinking to do another experiment this weekend. Will pick one small feature, write lots of tests and do 100% vibe coding for that feature enhancement. Keep hitting on Cursor -> Keep all... Keep all... Keep all... And track the tests.
Today I ran an experiment → vibecoded only ~20% of my AI Tutor @OpenLume. The rest I wrote & debugged myself (like the good old days). As a developer - man, the kick you get from debugging & solving it yourself still hits hard. 🔥 👉 How much of your work do you still
