Would love some teeth and support behind this. What a game changer this would be for all nurses, doctors and health care professionals. How do we push this?! @CarolynBMaloney @KPSCALnews @aafp

On this cold, rainy day, my spirit is lifted seeing this FRONTLINE group of brave, SMILING staff, nurses and physicians standing outside for hours helping our patients. What an incredible team effort @KPSanDiego #OurKP

Taking some moments today to enjoy the beautiful things around me. As things are bound to be more difficult m the next week, trying to soak it all in, be present and also, a little, intentionally non-present. #selfcare #OurKP

Rain delays allowed additional training for our @SouthwestAir pilot. Thankfully, the pilot was quick on the uptake and our daughter was a calm, knowledgeable flight instructor.

I hate telling patients over 65 that muscle relaxers are not ideal, but more and more research points to cutting down and eventually getting people off zanaflex, baclofen and similar. Prescription yoga,🧘‍♀️ bath bombs, massages and heating pads ! #Jama @KPSanDiego

LOVE this idea of Health-Flourishing in @JAMA_current 5/2019 and will incorporate. Sad we don’t receive enough training when patients are not flourishing, beyond just screening. Moving away from “well-care” as we struggle with patient access hinders a deeper connection @KPSDFMR

Great way to incorporate evidence based decision making in practice. Use of CRB-65 to quickly screen patient with community acquired pneumonia when labs not easy to obtain.

“Don’t physick your family with too much frequency. It is an unnatural thing to be constantly dosing a child with medicine.” True in 1878 and 2019 @AlexMMTri @KPDocSG #Physick

Association of US Primary Care Physician Supply and Population Mortality https://t.co/WhTsIRxfSC “Greater primary care physician supply was associated with improved mortality, but...physician supply decreased between 2005 and 2015.” Primary care = population health. @KPSDFMR

Looking forward to more organizations following American College of Physicians guidelines on diabetes. A1c target of 7-8% most appropriate. Lower than this causing more harm than good for patients and unnecessary workload doctors. #diabetes

People with diabetes and obesity (BMI>35) who get bariatric surgery have less strokes and heart attacks. Diet and exercise is important, but weight loss surgery works. Really well. #diabetes
