On this day in 1865, news finally reached enslaved peoples in Galveston, Texas that they were indeed emancipated from slavery per President Abraham Lincoln’s signing of The Emancipation Proclamation two years earlier in 1863.🧵

Yesterday, Middle School students participated in ✨Water Day✨, a longstanding #tradition for #ConcordiaPrepSaints full of water fun to celebrate the closing of another school year, especially our 8th graders as it was their last day of middle school. 🫶
