Experienced designers know that finishing your product is only the beginning - reviewing it for usability and experience is a whole other matter. Here are some tips on how to systematically review your work to make sure it’s the best it can be:.

For each duplicated shape layer, you can individually change the color change by adjusting the "Color Control" effects' colors ("Color Control" and "Color Control 2").

7. (00:43 - 0:46). To create color variations for different blocks, duplicate the shape layer by selecting it and pressing "Ctrl/Cmd + D" on your keyboard. Adjust the shape and position of the duplicated shape layer's mask to cover another block. Repeat this step for each block.

6. (00:40 - 00:42). To control where the color changes occur, create masks on the shape layer. Select the shape layer, go to the "Tools" panel, & choose the desired mask tool. Draw a mask on the shape layer, positioning it over the area where you want the color change to happen.

5. (00:30 - 00:39). Select the shape layer, navigate to the "Mode" drop-down menu in the "Timeline" panel, and change the blending mode from "Normal" to "Hue." This will create vibrant color interactions between the shape layer and the background video.

With each "Color Control" effect selected, link them to the expression by dragging the pick whip icon (the spiral-shaped icon) to the corresponding effect control point in the "Effects Controls" panel.

4. (00:10 - 00:29). To link the expression with the shape layer's color, add two instances of the "Color Control" effect to the shape layer. You can find this effect by going to "Effects" > "Expression Controls" > "Color Control." Apply the effect to the shape layer.

This expression will generate a random color between the values set by the "Color Control" and "Color Control 2" effects.

3. (00:05 - 00:09). In the expression editor, enter the following expression:. posterizeTime(8);. var color1 = effect("Color Control")("Color");. var color2 = effect("Color Control 2")("Color");. random(color1, color2);.

To add an expression to the "color" property of the shape layer, find the "Fill" property under the shape layer's contents. Press and hold the "Alt" button on your keyboard and click on the circle icon in front of the "Color" property. This will open the expression editor.

2. (00:02 - 00:04). Create a new shape layer by going to the "Layer" menu and selecting "New" > "Shape Layer." With the shape layer selected, navigate to the "Contents" section and click on the "Add" button next to "Rectangle" to create a shape.
