Duncan and Megan, our Policy and Research Hub Managers, recently visited the @stwater Finham Sewage Treatment Works. Duncan presented on our Organics Schemes, followed by an insightful tour where participants observed how biosolids are processed into high quality material.

Composting aligns with multiple UN SDGs. The important benefits of composting are: ✅ Organic waste is kept out of landfill sites ✅ Less reliance on chemical fertilisers ✅ Organic waste is turned into a useful resource Ultimately, composting contributes to circularity.

Composting occurs at different scales, domestic/community and industrial. 💡 Did you know there are an estimated 272 industrial scale composting sites in the🇬🇧? 💡 Did you know approximately 5.1 million tonnes of organic waste are recycled through composting per year in the🇬🇧?
