While we’ve received significant help from those within the department, it seems like the higher-ups couldn’t care less. Every single lead that has put time into DBF has secured a summer internship since the program started.

We didn’t get access to our garage til January 2022, which combined with a lack of available resources, put us out of competition. Now, we’re facing being back to where we started with no space.

While @CU_SRL ended up being fortunate enough to find a sponsor for part of their rent, we tried during our 2020-21 season to use the facilities CU provided. We ended up being locked out of the only space we could use.

So what happened? With the move to the new aero building, Us and SRL went from having an entire (small) lab to work in to just a single shelf and table.

This year, we are incredibly proud of our design. We designed a low-wing, vtol aircraft capable of taking off and landing on water. More design photos to come!
