Magee needs to have its own Derry/NW-based executive, to direct the academic and operational management of the campus, as it moves to full autonomy.
Good news indeed and shows the value of persistent lobbying. Stormont needs to move urgently towards full autonomy for the North West and release it from debt-laden, Belfast-centred control. Derry’s growth will be much quicker and more sustainable when it is free of UU.

Presented my research on the cost of Irish unity, in terms of public finances, to Derry City & Strabane Council yesterday in the beautiful Guildhall. The engagement with councilors from across the political spectrum was excellent. https://t.co/sJ8C96kH2g

Enough. The urgent priority has to be a cross-border development commission for the North West - to rebuild our region around an independent university. Left unchecked, Belfast will paint its new £400m uni with liquid gold while Derry students scramble for places in bail hostels.
A new development agency is being proposed in Belfast to try to improve the city's economy and make it safer. https://t.co/QAiUQJLe4J

I was on @BBCRadioFoyle this morning discussing NICS job vacancies & the challenges of limited spare capacity in NI labour market. A key factor is that 10% of NI working age adults are unavailable for work because they are ill, on health waiting lists.

There are many similarities between the Cathedral Quartre project and Creggan Enterprises in Derry and it is only right that our organisation be the main partners in the development of the area

Ceist thromchúiseach: cad chuige nach bhfuil gach comhartha sráide agus comhartha bóthair sa Tuaisceart dátheangach anois mar ghnáthnós? Serious question: why isn't every street and road sign in the North now bilingual as a matter of course?
As Causeway Coast & Glens becomes the latest local administration to review its street sign policy, The Irish News explores each local council's Irish language street signs policy. Read more: https://t.co/AzSSB08GVH
