I think even more accurately it’s to work on landmarks. New/young WRs. QBs and WRs working on where those landmarks are down the field for deep balls (i.e. post, go, etc.).
People in the comments seem confused by this drill. It's more about the wide receiver tracking the football in the air rather than the QB's throw. Off camera, the WR is not running a route. They were downfield waiting for Drew Allar to launch the ball.

This guy is a great coach. He reminds me a lot of Franklin with the hoops he had to jump through at the start of his career to compete with the best teams in the country. The more the administration says yes, the better ASU will do.

When it comes to creativity in the Penn State offense, look for Liam Clifford. There were a few plays schemed for Liam in the Blue-White Game. In addition, Andy Kotelnicki said he and the staff have figured out in the offseason what Liam does the best.
