Under John Cornyn’s watch, Texas was already the most uninsured state in the country. Then, he helped Trump kick 1.7 million Texans off their healthcare and doubled premiums. We can’t have more of the same here, we need change – and that starts with electing a new leader.

Trump’s tariffs are hitting those who can least afford it – folks working their asses off and living paycheck to paycheck. Working families are feeling the effects of these taxes everywhere from the grocery store to their local coffee shop.  We need to repeal the tariffs now.

I rolled up my sleeves and joined the crew at Nando’s tortillería down in the RGV — folks who keep their community well-fed and ready to go. Texans work hard. It’s in our blood. But the economy’s still rigged against us, and it’s time to fix that.

If the Court strikes down the last safeguard against racial gerrymandering — all bets are off. This decision could unravel decades of work to build Black and Hispanic political power and result in a wave of discriminatory maps nationwide.

Gina Hinojosa has spent her life fighting for Texas families and taking on people like Abbott who think our state is for sale. She’s fearless, principled, and exactly the kind of governor Texans deserve.

They want us to believe that nothing can change — but it doesn’t have to be that way.  When we win, we need to make sure that who we are as Texans finally gets represented in DC.

I’m grateful to everyone in the Valley who shared their stories and their hopes for a better future. You reminded me that the strength of Texas isn’t found in fear — it’s found in our faith in each other.

Texans know the difference between law enforcement and intimidation. We can protect our borders and protect our values. We can have a system that’s fair, humane, and actually keeps people safe — one that recognizes the dignity of every person who calls this state home.

That kind of fear doesn’t just affect undocumented neighbors — it weakens the entire community. It tears at trust, breaks down cooperation, and makes it harder for everyone to feel safe.

What I heard over and over was the same story: ICE is inspiring fear, not safety. Folks told me about parents who are afraid to drive their kids to school. About classrooms with empty seats because mixed-status families have packed up and left in the middle of the night.

Last week, I spent a few days down in the Rio Grande Valley — sitting down with local teachers, football coaches, small business owners, and families who love this community and are proud to call it home.
