CFT and interdisciplinary thought: Conceptually-multidimensional fragments, combined in real-world contexts and used over time in crisscrossed fashion (as in CFT hypertexts) => disciplinary boundary-crossing, both specifically and as an epistemic mindset, a cognitive attunement.

6. My tweets here will mainly be flexibly adaptive “bite-size” conceptual fractals of the kind just described. (Later, multidimensional tags will be appended to scaffold your own situation-sensitive assemblages.) All for now…

5. So, to start, a quote from an old paper of mine I once saw handwritten on someone’s desk as I was about to give a talk somewhere: “Fragments are only a problem if they’re not assembled (& re-assembled). If they are configurable, their future situational uses are endless.”…

4. These kinds of rich, expandable, fragments, synecdochally reaching out to wholes greater than the sum of the parts, is a central aspect of Cognitive Flexibility Theory’s approach to learning for complexity and adaptive response to novelty. It finds an ideal home on Twitter...

3. What sort of learning? From generative, synecdochal FRAGMENTS that can be expanded to multiple contexts of application and generatively combined in situation-sensitive assemblages, in adaptive response to situational novelty, via a process of combinatorial idea play…

2. My goal, then & now: to promote a new kind of learning to support adaptive response to novelty, an increasingly essential skill in these times of growing complexity and accelerating change...

Google making folk stupid? Attention wandering? Lots of ways to turn lemons into lemonade. We've a job to do. Going to talk about that here.

Good to be back after my hiatus! Continuing concerns out there about digital disasters in learning. May be, but it's up to us to fix it!

The new synthesis is no synthesis. . The new synthesis, in random access worlds, is multidirectional readiness. It is potential.

Increasingly complex, rapidly changing world. Often have to figure it out as you go, building a schema of the moment. Cog flex. #creativity
