.@EastvalleyEagle 3rd grader Finley Nelson is heading to Augusta National! 🏌️‍♂️👏 After winning the @DriveChipPutt Regional at @TPCSawgrass, he’s set to compete during Masters week in 2026. Read his story:

From Eastvalley’s hallways to Augusta’s greens, Finley Nelson has proven that he belongs among the best young golfers in the country. Good luck at the National Finals, Finley! 👏

Back home, @EastvalleyEagle celebrated him like a hometown hero. The morning news spotlighted his win, announcements went out across the building, and his classmates erupted with cheers.

With that putt, Finley advanced to the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club, which will be held in the days leading up to the 2026 Masters Tournament.

The regional ended in a tie, forcing a playoff on the putting green. Finley’s mom reminded him, “This is your chance for one more putt.” After two playoff putts, Finley rolled in the winner and sealed his trip to Augusta.

Finley’s strongest event was the chipping portion, where he earned the highest score in his age group and brought home the gold medal. That consistency kept him in the hunt all day.

The Drive, Chip and Putt competition is simple but intense. Each golfer takes three drives, three chips, and three putts. Scores are based on accuracy, and the pressure builds quickly.

Finley secured his ticket to Augusta by winning the Regional Qualifier of the @DriveChipPutt competition at @TPCSawgrass. One playoff and one clutch putt were all it took to clinch the victory. 🏆 https://t.co/tDw0kvDkhI
