We recently finished the Eastoke dredging works as part of the Autumn beach management plan. The dredger delivered two loads at each high tide, extracting material from Chichester Harbour and depositing it to improve beach levels, which helps reduce flooding risk 🚧

The North Portsea Coastal Scheme is carrying out a landscape restoration method called ‘Hydroseeding.’ This involves spraying a mixture of seeds, mulch, water, & fertiliser onto the soil, to help establish vegetation in coastal environments prone to erosion & harsh weather.

We teamed up with @solentseascape & the Langstone Harbour Board to do fish surveys earlier this week. The surveys help to monitor the number of fish, inform decisions and understand ecosystem health. The fish in the pictures are a left-eyed flounder & a bass.

Take a look back at these construction clips of the Stokes Bay seawall. The project was completed in Sep 2024, & the Alverbank East Car Park & promenade reopened after being closed to the public for several years. This was due to the seawall being damaged by several storms 🚧
