If the players on your kids team seem to change every weekend you show up to compete, are you really even on a TEAM?

Parents Of 3rd-6th grade hoopers: Your child does not need to make a “spring/summer” travel team commitment in September! Stop giving in to the ridiculous pressure from directors who cannot even tell you who will coach the team or which church/school they will practice in -

Good list Greg ……..TRUSTED is so important and often overlooked or not even understood unless you have coached a lot of good players who have been on both sides of that quality.
Talent gets too much hype. Trusted? On time? Work hard? Coachable? Bring energy? Stay positive? Accept your role? Make winning plays? Without these, talent doesn’t win.

September basketball tryouts for 4-6 graders that won’t actually begin playing games together until next year in March or April is one of many stupid things going on in travel youth hoops. If the sell is “Hey your 4th grader is really good, give me 800 dollars to hold their

The reason for Being a “coach” can be different for those who do it: ✅ A way to give back. ✅A profession, providing for their family. ✅A quality way to spend time with one’s children. ✅ A love for the game. Whatever the reason is, don’t judge. Coaches need to stick

Teaching the mental side of basketball is missing from most youth programs. Reads and spacing, usage of film, and how to play off the ball are all so crucial and being undertrained. I can help ☑️ https://t.co/fqJjY1Af0P

I love when these types of moments get captured and shared. Jay made a buzzer beater against my UHS team his senior year to beat us 🥶 (kid could hoop too!). Congrats to Jay and his family. Hard work and perseverance always will pay off.

If it is hard for you to sit in the stands and enjoy your child’s game, it will end up being hard for them to enjoy PLAYING the game. Parents should be the #1 fan! Support your kids dreams and goals (and everyone else on their team 😎), but do not turn it into a stressor when

Parents: As your child is preparing to compete today, regardless of sport, think about providing them some goals that have nothing to do with scoring…. ☑️ Pick up every teammate that goes to the ground. ☑️ Play so hard that you need to ask your coach for a rest. ☑️ Be engaged
