Working in basketball for a living is so freaking cool. Getting to “work” in a gym and around kids is really special and something that not many are fortunate enough to be able to do.
Every interaction is an INTERVIEW! One day you will be hired by someone who you don’t even know is watching you. Make every room better because you are in it, and watch how many great things happen in your life.
100 wins is a pretty cool milestone for a kid who never wanted to be anything but a college basketball coach. I am very grateful for all of the players, coaches, and friends that I have been fortunate to work with over the past 5+ years as a HC, and 16 years in college basketball
I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to live out a dream that I have had my entire life. Couldn’t be luckier to be leading this program!

So many young people don’t appreciate the value of body language. When a coach is evaluating whether you can play for them, start for them, or whether they can trust you with the ball- body language is vital! Do you want to trust someone who is sulking or complaining?
Wanna know the secret? Stop looking for the secret and get to work. Do your job and watch how things fall into place. There is no secret, no magic pill. There are no tricks. Successful people do their job. Period.
Jimmy Butler flew his trainer out to get extra work IN THE PLAYOFFS. When most would tell you to rest and save energy, an NBA ALL-STAR is working out at midnight between playoff games. Tell me again why you want to play and your not working in the summer?
I am honored to be listed alongside so many incredible D2 and NAIA coaches. We are all so fortunate to be able to do what we do and impact young lives!
If you don’t record your workout and post it on social media, did you really even get better? Or can you only get better if everyone knows you’re working out?
Watching games over the past few weeks, I can’t help but think of how small the margin of error is in every single game. So many seasons have ended because of missed FTs & FT block outs, giving up 2 & 1s while up 3, TOs, clock management, etc. Victory lies in the details!
The day-to-day grind sucks. It sucks for everyone. Especially when you start. But if you keep coming back, if you do it consistently, soon it becomes something bigger than you could ever have fathomed. Don’t quit just because that hasn’t happened… yet

Yesterday was the birthday of my mentor, Coach Ingle. I can’t express how much he means to me, and has meant to me since the day that I met him over 15 years ago. I think about him every single day and miss him dearly.
If you’re experiencing pressure, that means you have earned the right to be in that moment!
Stop avoiding pressure and start embracing it.

No one deserves this more than
@CoachCabralHuff
. From our days at NCCS/St. Francis to Alcorn and everything in between, Huff is the ultimate worker. Couldn’t happen to a better person
Come join us today as we celebrate one of our own
@CoachCabralHuff

@VoorheesMBball
come show some love to our guy and you might get pulled onto the show! 👀

Thank you to
@DSC_Marketing
for feeding our team yesterday while the cafeteria was closed. We had a blast eating good food, watching dog tricks, and listening to stories!
Everyone has a role to play and responsibilities to fulfill. The minute you start feeling bigger than your role or more important than your responsibilities is usually the minute that you find yourself replaced. Life is a team sport.
@KSUOWLSMBB
I just saw
@Coach_Ireland
on the Owls bench, as a student assistant. Since then he's become a D1 assistant and now is the Head Coach at Dalton State where he succeeded...Tony Ingle!
There will be TONS of great action this weekend in Mashburn Arena. Come support your Roadrunners as they match up against two nationally ranked opponents. The Roadrunners kick take on
#8
Pikeville Friday at 7, and
#16
Cumberlands Sat at 4!

There are a lot of people who can learn a ton from this man. Coach Ingle taught me so much in the 5 years that I worked for him! Won a national championship at two different schools... and he’s a much better person than he is a coach!!
Happy 4th of July! While there is much to be grateful for, loving this country is not accepting it as is, but striving each day to make it better. Our nation, like all, is imperfect & true patriotism means participating in its growth so that all Americans enjoy the same liberty.
How much discomfort are you willing to go through to accomplish your goals? How much resistance can you face and keep pushing forward? How bad do you really want it? Don’t settle!
Don’t give up your power. Don’t give up your control. Don’t blame, complain, or make excuses. Do something to make a difference today!! You have the power to control more than you give yourself credit for. Step up and do it!
What an accomplishment for Franklin! His growth over the past three seasons at Dalton State has been susbstantial. Three years of consistency and hard work have paid off!

Wish more players would understand this. It’s not a wise use of your time to work on creating shots if you haven’t mastered making shots. There are levels to this and you can’t skip steps. Get good at the basics first
In school, you can’t move on to multiplication & division until you learn addition & subtraction.
Shooting & finishing are addition & subtraction.
If you can’t shoot, why are you working on creating space for jumpers? Makes NO sense. Make shots then learn how to create them!
Very excited to participate in the Minority Coaches Association of GA's Fall 2019 Preseason Clinic! I can't wait to meet and learn from other great coaches as we all get better and prepare to lead our teams into the upcoming season!
Another gritty win for our group on the road. I’m really proud of the way that we stayed together and withstood BPC’s run in the second half. Defense travels and we held them to 32%.

If your work ethic matches your paycheck, I hope you are satisfied with it, because it’s not changing anytime soon! You have to do more in order to earn more!
Congrats to my brother
@Coach_Ireland
& Dalton State on winning the SSAC Tournament Championship tonight. From the ‘Corn to the ‘Ship. Learned so much from you in our time working together as college assistants. Happy for you! The sticks are on me this week.
The most true thing I have read in a while. No matter how good or how bad your season is going, get better today and do your best to win the next. 1 practice at a time!
Got a call from a former player last night at 11pm bragging about passing all of his classes and how excited he was to be one class away from graduating. Better than any win. This is why we do what we do.
You can have anything you want, but you cannot have everything you want. Success in any field requires prioritizing the things that matter to you and sacrificing the things that don’t. You get what you pay for- nothing more, nothing less!
Don’t wait for it, go get it! Make it happen, force the issue, make people uncomfortable. Don’t settle for what you are given, because it surely won’t be much
What did you accomplish today? Did you create a better tomorrow? Or did you just float through the day like a zombie? Begin the day with a focused mindset to ACCOMPLISH your goals. A better tomorrow has to start today!
I spent so much time at Suwanee Sports Academy as a young coach. It was where I learned how to coach. Yesterday, I got to watch one of my former players coach his AAU team there. Such a great full circle moment. Proud of these dudes!

I hope young players are watching guys like Looney and Hartenstein. They don’t have the talent of a Steph or a Jalen Brunson, but they are in the NBA and on the floor because they do their job and do it well!!
