Only 2 four-year colleges/universities in the Western United States have won more than 80% of their football games since the year 2000.
Linfield College 86.0% (172-28)
Boise State 83.9% (198-38)
Recruits: If having the opportunity to participate in playoff games is important to you - do your research. It is very tough to make the playoffs at the college level. At Linfield we take great pride in our consistent playoff participation and success over the last 20+ years!!
After 20 years in coaching the final loss in the playoffs never really gets any easier - the death of a season and the realization that you don’t get the opportunity to coach your seniors ever again. Makes it so important to enjoy the process and the time we all have together!!
Great day to be a Wildcat!! Super proud of our for guys sticking together, overcoming adversity, and making some big time plays to get the win against a tough and well coached Whitworth team!! Great game! Very surreal with the fading daylight in overtime! Roll Cats!!🏆🏆
Seeing this graphic today got me missing the playoffs. There have been many years where we would be prepping this week for a NCAA Quarterfinal playoff game!! Hope to be back there in 2021!!

So proud of what our program has accomplished over the last 12 years against Northwest Conference competition. So many great young men were a part of those 77 wins! We look forward to seeing the group of awesome young men we get to add to the Linfield Football legacy in 2022!!
Proud to be a part of Linfield Football - the most successful college football program in the Western United States since the year 2000!!

What a privilege it has been to coach with this man for the last 20 years! Tough to find anyone that cares about the men they coach & doing things the RIGHT WAY more than this man! I will forever have “Take Out The Trash” and “HBR” ingrained in me! Thanks for all you have done!
Fun looking at the past 8 years - with 247 teams currently playing Division III football Linfield has not finished lower than 38th in Scoring Defense and our guys finished the 2017 season ranked 7th Nationally - allowing just 12.1points per game.

Since the year 2000 Linfield Football has claimed 15 Northwest Conference Championships, 1 NCAA Division III National Championship, 10 Top Five National finishes, and had 50 All-Americans while amassing a 146-15 regular season, 99-6 Northwest Conference, and 172-28 overall record
Proud of our guys - but amazing to see a defense that led conference in Total Defense (258 yards per game - 82 yards better than 2nd place defense), Rushing Defense (57.4 yards per game), 3rd down defense (24.5%), and Red Zone defense only get 3 players named to 1st team.🤷🤷
First week of spring ball in the books!! Great to be out working with the guys this past week!! Not sure we can really call it “spring” ball when it is snowing - but proud of our guys for the overall attitude and effort in the wet and cold conditions!!

Still amazing to me that 3 of the top 7 Homerun hitters and 3 of the top 4 RBI producers in the history of NCAA Division III softball all played at Linfield. Even more amazing is that that all three played together from 2010-12 when the Cats won an astounding 139 of 156 games!!
Get asked by a lot of recruits and parents what makes Linfield “different” and able to sustain such a high level success for so many years. This is a huge reason - “uncommon” stability and loyalty.

One of the most amazing things about the "Streak" is that Linfield has had only 5 different head coaches in 66 years. Each coach in the lineage was a Linfield graduate or served on the coaching staff prior to becoming head coach. So the winning culture has never started over!
When you get to choose your future football home - why not choose a place that has a proven track record of success and developing players. Many programs have one or two good years but only a select few can sustain excellence year in and year out!
The consistent excellence of the Linfield Football program since 2000 has been remarkable with 18 NWC championships, 85% winning percentage, and 10 National Top 5 finishes. Recruits: If you are looking for a proven winner - have to look at Linfield!!

Jason Farlow’s recent selection as a First Team All-American Linebacker gives Linfield 16 Defensive All-Americans since 2010 including 8 First Team Selections. By comparison the rest of the Northwest Conference has had 1 First Team selection on defense since 2010!

Belated congrats to all the Linfield graduates from this past weekend.🙌🙌 Will especially miss the football and softball players that have been such a huge part of our success the past four years!! Will be fun to see what they accomplish in their lives after Linfield!! Go Cats!!
Tony Kraus garnered all-Northwest Conference each of the last two seasons and his 17 sacks are 18th all-time in program history!

The most memorable games for most players and coaches are those where the season is on the line in a win-or-go home playoff game. If you truly aspire to play in these big games why not go somewhere with a proven history of post-season success!!

Playoff games and playoff success are very hard to come by in college football. Recruits: if you want to play in big games and test yourself against the best in the country don't forget to evaluate the playoff success of the schools you are considering.

So many great players and memories over the years!! Recruits - if you aspire to be a part of a winning program that can help you reach your full potential - hard to find many places on the West Coast better than Linfield!!
With 240 teams in NCAA Division III football - being named an All-American is a tremendous honor. Linfield's consistent success & reputation for developing players has resulted in more All-American honors than the rest of the NWC combined since 2010!!

Nothing like have your work ethic humbled by spending 5 days of Christmas Break with your 61 year-old mother and watching her get up every morning at 5:30 to run 6 miles!!
One of the best defensive players I have ever coached. For not being very big Fish was a phenomenal hitter and tackler. Also, had tremendous ball skills - just a great all around football player!
Drew Fisher led Linfield in tackles for three straight seasons. He was the 2011 NWC Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time Division III All-American.

A hallmark of the vaunted Linfield Defense over the years has been the ability to constantly harass opposing quarterbacks. Amazing that the 'Cats have finished in the top 5 nationally in sacks 8 times in the past 12 seasons.

Last Day of Linfield Team Camp
#2
- 4 days with 1000 kids!! A few action shots here featuring Sherwood, Olympia, Clackamas, and River Ridge in our final jamboree scrimmage. Always great to follow camp teams in the fall!! Last two 6A Oregon State Champions have been at the camp!🏆
Big shout out to Jason Farlow for being named First Team All-American at LB!! Very deserving!! Probably should have seen a few more Linfield guys from a Top 10 defense but that is the way of All-American teams - always something to argue!!
#rollcats
Good shot of our Head Coach, Joe Smith, addressing the Linfield Team Camp tonight on the topics of Exellence, Accountability, Work Ethic, and building a Culture of Success.

So many great players and teams in the history of the program. Awesome to see this generation of teams carrying on the tradition. As a defensive guy - love seeing all those low opponent scores over the years!
#RollCats
Not only has the Linfield Football program posted an outstanding 90-3 record in the Northwest Conference over the last 14 years but they have also done so in DOMINANT fashion - with the closest average margin of victory being 24 points since 2010!!

Last day of our first team camp = all scrimmages. Some great competition and a chance to see all the hard work from the spring and our camp pay off for these teams!

Some amazing offensive seasons by some special players. Simply amazing that hitting 20 or more home runs in a single season has only been achieved 12 times in the history of NCAA Division III softball and 5 of those 12 have been by Linfield Wildcats!!! 🥎🥎

So many reasons why high caliber football student-athletes choose Linfield as their future home. Hear from 3-time all-Northwest Conference defensive tackle - Nick Severson - on why he chose Linfield and what he loves most about Linfield Football.

A tremendous young man who takes great pride in being a great teammate as well as a great football player. We are super excited to have Chance back in the Catdome next fall! Will also be awesome to see what he accomplishes in his life after Linfield!
Chance Sparks - a 1st Team All-Conference corner shares "Why he choose Linfield" & "What he loves most about the Linfield Football program". Chance has been the ultimate team player - playing both receiver and corner and twice being voted as the 'Cats Most Inspirational Player.
Will also always be known as the player who ”Saved the Streak” by knocking down a late 4th down and 4 pass in the end zone against Lewis and Clark in 1996. Win moved the ‘Cats back to a 4-4 record and the team extended the winning streak to 41 years the following week.
Matt Craven was a two-sport standout for the Wildcats. A First Team All-Conference cornerback, he was also a five-time NAIA track & field All-American, finishing as the national runner-up in the pole vault twice.

Arguably the best hitter in NCAA Division III history - .480 career batting average, .935 slugging percentage, .581 on-base percentage, 73 home runs, and 259 RBI’s. Also, a fantastic defensive player and student of the game!! Congrats Staci!!
A four-time First Team All-American, Staci Doucette helped lead the 'Cats to the 2011 NCAA title and national runner-up finishes in 2010 and 2012. She established a Division III record with 73 career home runs.
