This bigger issue is that fewer high school student-athletes will have an opportunity to play college athletics. D1 Power 4 football should be in a league of its own. 6+ years of eligibility now instead of 4 means less oppurtunity for hs kids to get an education. It's gotta stop.
Time to abolish four-year eligibility. The next player to fight for a fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth or ninth year of eligibility will win his case. Is it good? No. Nothing against NIL or the transfer portal, but the lack of leadership at the top of college athletics is mind
