On Monday, the boys took second place at the AAA County Championships to an excellent Freeport squad, 86-83. The boys way outperformed their seeds and we are so happy with our efforts and performances. 8 county champions, 3 more all-county athletes and we scored in 12/18 events!

Senior Jordan Altman anchors home to victory the 4x800m team of Hernandez-Chan-Cruz by the narrowest of margins. Altman goes 4:23/9:46 earlier in the meet and will go down one of the best individual performance at the one day county meet in the last 10 years!

Braves have a solid weekend at the Penn Relays. The 4x100 of Naveen, Lee, Furukawa and Li ran the fastest time for all NYS Public schools with a 43.4 #pennrelays #syossetbraves

🚨 School Record Alert 🚨 The 4x200m team@of Elvis Li, Nishanth Naveen, Yamato Furakawa and Brenton Lee go 1:32.19 and Long Island #1 yesterday at The Armory! Their time qualifies them for a he Nike Indoor National Championships on March 11th! Wow! 🔥 💨

The 4x800m team of John Hernandez, Danny Chan, Luis Cruz and Jordan Altman punched their ticket to his week to the NYSPHSAA State Championships on March 4th at Ocean Breeze! 4 perfectly run races led to a Nassau County #1 of 8:20.43. Congrats boys!

Braves bring the County Championship back to Syosset beating a really tough Port Washington team. Altman wins the individual title with 5 All-County. 9/10 PRs today. Frosh lead the way in the JV race with some massive performances! Well done, boys!

Part of performing at the highest level is learning to let go. Trying harder, exerting more effort, often backfires. Think: The batter who tries to swing harder. The Sprinter who tries to force running faster Do the work in practice. Then trust yourself to execute.

There are no magical workouts. Everything works and doesn't. It's about applying the right stimulus for the desired adaptation at the right time. Figure out what sort of adaptation you are after. Then, determine the appropriate stimulus for that adaptation.

We always have more left in the tank. No one reaches the limit of their potential. That's why performing at just about anything is about the journey and exploring that limit, not the destination.

Nationals Weekend is off to a great start! Last night the Braves took 17th in the Championship SMR running 3:37.94 (Lee-Naveen-Miller-Altman). NY#8 and one of the top Section 8 performance all-time! Followed by 8th grader Cruz this morning in the Middle School Mile (5:01.03)!
