Dear young athletes- keep this photo saved to your phone and show the next person who says you have to focus on one sport in HS. The amount of kids I’ve heard say “I can’t risk getting hurt” or “my coach won’t let me” drives me crazy. You get one shot to be a HS athlete.

Every coach has seen it... talented athletes who never last. Not because of skill, but because they aren’t coachable. Athletes who listen, accept feedback, and stay accountable? They win. They last. They grow. Talent fades. Coachability doesn’t.

Talent will only take a TEAM so far. If the Talent is competing AGAINST each other there is no chance for long term success. The Talent has to like playing with one another! It’s a TEAM sport.
