That this was a cool moment. Painter recognizing these dudes on the floor are in a once in a lifetime moment. Told UConn to run a play. Hurley chose not to, but I thought it was cool.
Was it a disgrace to the broadcasting profession when they hired a guy who had never broadcasted before & had a degree in education? It’s one thing to feel some type of way about an interim hire, it’s another to call it a travesty & disgrace.
Indiana seemed dead in the water. Injuries were mounting, team was disconnected.
They’ve completely turned it around this past week. 3 wins in dominating fashion.

Caught something pretty cool while reviewing

film from the past couple games. Against Wisconsin, TJD made a post move & Wisconsin was sitting on his left hand. Cameras caught Woodson showing him the counter to use. His first post touch yesterday, he scored on that counter.
Trayce Jackson-Davis & Xavier Johnson essentially willed Indiana into the NCAA tournament. Hats off to the entire team, but those guys were special. Next week will be fun.

“My freshman season was nothing short of amazing. My coaches kept their word by having the ultimate trust in me as a freshman.“
A ringing endorsement for future stars to trust what

’s staff is doing.
ESPN Reporting with
@DraftExpress
: Indiana freshman guard Jalen Hood-Schifino, a projected lottery pick, will forgo his remaining college eligibility and enter the 2023 NBA draft. “For me, the time is now," he told ESPN.
Matt Painter is a top 5 coach in the country. He deserves this feeling. He’s seen some high highs & very low lows. Stayed the course. Good on him.
Obviously as an IU fan, those words are not easy to say. Lol. But they’re real.
“At least we don’t live in Indiana” overheard on the broadcast. I get the insult if you live in California or Florida or something - Minnesota? Really?
In

's four-game winning streak,
@TrayceJackson
is averaging 27.3 PPG, 14.3RPG, 3.8APG, 4.8BPG, and shooting 63.3% from the floor. Throughout this streak, he is rocking the rim. Every dunk from this streak is below.
Per million residents, Indiana comes in at
#2
for the number of players in the NCAA Tournament from here. In terms of total volume (37), the Hoosier state is 5th.
The Indiana job has gotten easier to recruit to. That's a fact. There is a built-in bankroll that makes it easier than ever to acquire and retain top talent.
It is, in large part, why this season is so frustrating. There should not have to be 'rebuilding' years in which you're
Hoosiers lost & I’m grinning ear to ear. My mom was discharged from the hospital at 830 & is in acute rehab! Praise the Lord & praise you all for all the well wishes.
In each of his last 2 games, the
@warriors
' Trayce Jackson-Davis has:
- notched a double-double
- grabbed more than a dozen rebounds
- shot better than 70%
The last NBA player to do that off the bench in back-to-back games was his father, Dale Davis, from April 12-13, 2001.
Indiana will be welcoming Mackenzie Mgbako, a 5 star ‘23 F, next weekend for a visit. What will the versatile F bring to Bloomington if he chooses to wear the candy stripes and play for

Not lost in this Jackson-Davis news: he just spent a month working on an NBA skillset. This includes more pick-and-pop, spacing to the corner, short rolls, etc. All of that work will aid

(and TJD) this season.
Say what you will about this season, but Trey Galloway deserves praise. He's tasked with checking the opponent's best wing every night & essentially being forced to play out of position on offense as the only playmaker with the ball in his hands.
Myles Rice & Kanaan Carlyle had a game this season where they went back and forth. Rice finished with 35 points, 8 assists, and 4 steals. Carlyle finished with 31 points, and 3 assists.

Friendly reminder that playing zone in youth basketball is a disservice to the kids. If you want to put on your LinkedIn that you win games at the 3rd grade level, just put it, but spare the kids your BS.
Christie Sides not exactly doing herself any favors to start the Fever season. Has benched hometown hero Berger & threw Clark under the bus last night in the presser. All while starting 1-7. Seems less than ideal.
THREAD: Kel’el Ware begins his official visit with

today. Ware is the perfect modern 5. He moves well, can catch lobs, along with stretching the floor. Not to mention, he’s a great rim protector. Clips below.
On Saturday,

made a conscious effort to run actions that put Purdue's bigs (primarily Edey) in ball screen/dribble handoff situations. The Hoosiers created a blueprint of how to attack the Boiler 'drop' coverage, IMO.
My

offseason wishlist (no particular order):
1) Dynamic guards that can create their own shot & shots for others
2) Somebody that can shoot the piss out of the ball
3) Rim protector
4) Staff goes to as many Indiana Elite games as possible
5) Mack & Reneau back
IU grinded one out where they didn’t play well…again. That’s the winning DNA this program has lacked for several seasons. This team is different.

Lakers coach Darvin Ham called Jalen Hood-Schifino the MVP of the team’s first day of practice and detailed an interesting homework assignment he’s given the rookie point guard:
Someone from Illinois just sent this to me. Looks like there is some sort of a student section scouting report that was sent to the students. Illinois’ infatuation about

is something I will never understand.
BREAKING: Indiana star big man Kel’el Ware has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, he tells

Former McDonald’s All American that projects as a first round pick. || Story:
Illinois hand-checking on every IU drive. If I’m Mike Woodson, I’m in the refs’ ears on that one. Only 3 fouls with how physical they’re being defies logic.
Last night,
@KelelWare
put on display his full NBA skillset.
