Last year, Jakye Rainey was in the kitchen with his dad when they discussed going for Christian Laettner’s all-time Nichols scoring record. A year later and Rainey is 29 points away from breaking it. Laettner was interviewed for this story.

Anthony Ottomano no longer girls basketball coach at St. Mary's; Bill Shaw out at Williamsville North. Both coaches were successful in WNY. Shaw has 14 sectional titles & a state title. Ottomano advanced to the Class B state Catholic final in 2022.
