Happy 4th of July, Shakopee! City offices and the Community Center will be closed today in observance of the holiday. SandVenture will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This week's garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by one day all week after Tuesday.

This Memorial Day, let us unite in gratitude, appreciation, and solemn remembrance of the people who lost their lives fighting for freedom. City offices and the Community Center will be closed in recognition of the holiday, and garbage service will run one day late all week.

With 875 votes, Jesse Lara has won the Special Election for #Shakopee City Council. The unofficial vote totals, which will be certified on April 18, are: Jesse Lara – 875 votes (55%) Nathan Dull – 570 votes (36%) Mike Luce – 89 votes (5.5%) Ian Osborn – 56 votes (3.5%)
