The Governing Body approved naming the new community park in southeast Garden City in honor of Bob Halloran and the indelible mark his tenure as Assistant City Manager and as City Manager left on the community. The park is set for completion in the spring of 2025.

The asphalt mill and overlay project from Labrador North to the bypass on Campus Dr. began today.
Please be aware of trucks and rough roads in the area while the project is underway.

July 18th was the City Employee Appreciation Night at the GC Wind game, but our Water Dept. was repairing a leak on a 20” transmission main that evening. Thank you to the selfless individuals who respond to situations like these and put service to the community first!

Phase 5 of renovations have begun at Buffalo Dunes! This year’s updates will put the project at 90% complete with one year remaining. All green complexes will be finished this season.

The deadline to register to vote in the August 6th election is July 16th! The City of Garden City will be asking voters whether or not to reauthorize the existing 1/2 of one percent sales tax for an additional 10 years.

As well as flying the American flag, Electric crews were busy dealing with isolated outages over the 4th.
Wildlife can create issues with powerlines causing fuses to blow (pictured below). Thank you everyone from all depts. who worked so our community could enjoy the 4th!

Garden City has a long history of decorated military service. Remains of US Army Sgt Gregory Knoll, a soldier from GC who lost his life in combat in WWII, were returned home with full military honors and interred in the Veteran’s Field of Honor at Valley View Cemetery.
