Happy Lunar New Year! 🐍🎉 Citymeals recipient Shin Ho, 87, misses celebrating with friends from her close-knit Korean community in Flushing. But a special meal of rice cake soup, Korean-style Pad Thai and fish pancakes delivered to her door reminds her she’s not forgotten.

We’re tackling elder hunger in NYC by providing 10,000 recipients with additional food—& we’re already halfway there! Since last fall, 5,000 older New Yorkers have been receiving our breakfast box, which equals a second daily meal. Learn more: https://t.co/gNPcx1onJo

Citymeals recipient Elizabeth, 73, misses the third-floor walk-up in Flatbush where she lived for 42 years. As her COPD worsened, she needed a building that was accessible with her oxygen tank, so she had to move to senior housing in Fort Greene.

We applaud @CMLindaLee for introducing legislation to better assist homebound New Yorkers during emergencies. As we saw with Hurricane Sandy and the LA Wildfires, older people and individuals with disabilities face greater obstacles evacuating and accessing information and help.
Every second & every life counts during an emergency. Yesterday, I introduced legislation to allow our vulnerable and homebound neighbors to register with @nycemergencymgt to reduce response times and facilitate precise and effective rescue and assistance during emergencies.

Citymeals stood with @liveonny and @CMCrystalHudson on the steps of City Hall today to show our support for the #AgeStrongNYC Campaign. We're calling on Mayor Adams to invest an additional $2.3 billion in food, housing and community support for older New Yorkers.
