Although construction activity will be underway in the roadway, there will be no changes to traffic patterns on Seerley Boulevard, which will remain open and fully functional. Exercise caution and proceed carefully when traveling through the area. This is expected to take 1 week.

Please note that starting today (Tuesday, July 22) the Cedar Falls Public Works Streets Division will begin work along Seerley Boulevard between Iowa Street and Tremont Street to complete utility work and associated permanent road patching.

OnJuly 21, the contractor will begin reconstruction of the alley from East 10th Street to East 11th Street between State Street and Bluff Street. An alley closure will be required. The alley closure will be in effect for three (3) to four (4) weeks, depending on the weather.

The railroad will reopen the road crossings by 5 PM on July 22, ahead of RAGBRAI. Those on the north side of the closure will have access via Lone Tree Road and Dunkerton Road. Those on the south side of the closure will have access via Lincoln Street and West Airline Highway.

Starting on Tuesday, July 15, Canadian National (CN) Railroad will close Leversee Road between West Airline Highway/Lincoln Street and Rail Way (south) for railroad crossing repairs. A full-width road closure for both crossings located on Leversee Road will be required.

Due to RAGBRAI, the Cedar Falls Compost Facility will be closed starting at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, through Friday, July 25. The facility will reopen with normal operating hours on Saturday, July 26. ♻️.

Crews will be working on the full width of the roadway, including the southerly parking areas. No parking will go into effect starting on July 10. The roadway will be open full-width during nights and weekends. The road work is anticipated to be complete by Friday, July 18.

On July 9, Public Works will begin pavement grinding operations of W. 12th St. from Tremont to Washington St. This is pavement rehabilitation ahead of RAGBRAI. A daytime moving lane closure, block by block, will be necessary while crews work to restore the pavement surface.

On July 7, the City's contractor, Boulder Contracting, will begin reconstruction on part of the Prairie Lakes Trail system. The western part of the trail around South Prairie Lake will be closed. This work is anticipated to take four to six weeks, weather dependent.
