One thing that helped me tremendously to become a better CFO, is that I started my own firm. I became an owner myself, I start thinking like an owner, I need to build my business as an owner, I have to learn all the skills that are required in order to be a successful owner.

Costs are just like people. Some are more stable than others. Fixed cost: Stable, but can have a significant impact on your bottom line. E.g. rent, payroll. Variable costs: unstable, tied to your production, easier to adjust. E.g. labor, office supplies. #costs #fractionalcfo

"How can I be more successful? make more money? and be happier?" Well, hate to break it to you, But you are not going to 10x your life by walking the same path every day. Most people take the same route, go to the same job, eat the same thing, and hang out with the same people

We are officially in October. It's the season of reflection, celebration, and planning. How is your business so far this year? Have it achieved the milestones that you set out earlier this year? What are the things that you can do in the next few months to take it to the next

"I have this idea of doing xxx." A simple sentence that reveals two types of people. Type 1: "But there are other people who are already doing that." "It's not gonna work." "No one's gonna buy." Type 2: "That's amazing. Tell me more about it." "That's a great opportunity."

I was at #CHFA yesterday helping my client with their booth. What a fun day. My client made up a brand Kungfu Kitty Treat for their upcoming product format, which is the most adorable design ever. They know that I love cats and make homemade food for my pets at home. They were

Here's something that might surprise you while trying to grow your business: You need money to borrow money from the bank. Shocker, right? Banks don't lend you money when you need it; they lend you money when they know you have the money to pay them back. Therefore, how and

Friday reminder. NEVER wait till you run out of cash to: 1. Ask your bank for a line of credit. 2. Have clean financial reports and projections 3. Build a cash reserve Because waiting till it rains to fix the roof is never a good idea.

It cracks me up every time I get a notification on LI that someone is playing puzzle games. There's gotta be other fun things to do than playing puzzle games on LI.

You are not bad at managing cash flow. You just need more clarity. And clarity doesn't need to come from a spreadsheet with 50 tabs and fancy graphs. You need 3 simple things: 1. How much cash is coming in in the next week/month 2. How much cash will be going out in the next

Simple morning routine to set ourselves up for success everyday: Step 1. Get up every morning with a positive thought. Step 2. Stretch and wake up the body. Step 3. Hydrate the body. Step 4. Appreciate the little things, like this perfect lemon that I cut this morning. Step 5.

Growing from 7 to 8 figures comes with a culture shock. You are no longer dealing with your bank and lending partners like a mom-and-pop shop, especially if you need financing for growth. You need clean, structured financials. You need to show a proper operating system to

"What do Fractional CFO do exactly?" Came across this question regularly, so I thought I'd talk about it today. Consider Fractional CFO a part-time CFO that provides the value of a full-time CFO without the FT CFO cost. Not all fCFOs are created equal. You will find them with

Your financial forecast should not be a one and done. Situations change: the market, products, CapEx, financing, etc. Adjust your forecast accordingly and regularly so that you are not making bad decisions based on static data.
