Do you see what I see?. You can thief small inspiration from the structure, balance, and flow in architecture to create design layouts that guide the eye, are unique and make plenty sense. We are using flyers I designed for #MoonshotByTechCabal as a case study.

I also wanted uniformity for all the speaker images, so it feels like an active part of the design (like a puzzle piece), instead of something that was just thrown in.

For The Naira Life Conference, referencing this technique was more than a design choice. It may not be super obvious, but I wanted to represent the seriousness, symbolism, and cultural weight of money itself.

Quickly google it and come back, e sweet. It is what gives banknotes, passports, and high-security documents that distinct, tactile texture you see on them.

(i've seen people on Tiktok use something that looks like silicone or wood). The grooves (not gbedu o) hold the ink. When the paper is pressed hard on the plate, the ink from those grooves transfers to the paper, creating this 'raised' textured print.

My 'attempt' at replicating the Intaglio printing technique digitally. Take a seat Jamiu, class don start. Intaglio (pronounced in-tal-ee-oh) is a printmaking process where an image is carved into a surface, usually a metal plate like copper or steel.

Drum roll on the back of pot. presenting La Coin!!!. Created a custom coin in multiple perspectives as part of the visual identity for Naira Life Conference. Since the event centers on conversations about money, the coin felt like a visual anchor that ties directly to the theme.

The layers within the coin has a solid bronze base, round halftone pattern, soft paper texture, the event logo, Alhaji Aliyu Mai-Bornu looking rich in sunglasses, and subtle effects. E sweet?

Side note: A significant part of the photography guide in this design system suggests choosing pictures of models with bronze coloured skin. I think it contributes to enhancing visual harmony.

I made it black and white at first, woke up one gentle morning and changed it to bronze. The warm tone creates strong contrast against the primary color palette of green and off-white, creating balance in temperature while adding richness and visual depth.

When p-square sang "Chop My Money", they didn't know they were creating inspiration for me. 😂. This is a very simple 4-step photo manipulation static explainer. It shows how I created a motif by combining Naira notes and ice cream to visualize "Chop your money".

In this quick photo manipulation tutorial, I walked my people through the step-by-step process of transforming the Nigerian Naira into a brick wall design using Adobe Photoshop. Base image was created on Image FX.

From a visual design perspective, guilloché patterns are a demonstration of mathematical beauty. They are usually based on polar coordinates, Lissajous curves (I love this one. The patterns they create are crazy!!!), or other algorithmic structures.

Originally, guilloché was created using a machine called a rose engine lathe. It is a old-school machine that engraved these detailed lines on metal surfaces. It was mainly used on things like jewelry and timepieces to make them look rich and be hard to forge.

A guilloché pattern is an intricate, looping, repetitive linework you can find on money, passports, luxury watches, or even certificates.
