Last Friday saw the official opening of the RWA’s 172nd Annual Open, beautifully curated again this year. Great to have two pieces on show there through to 28th December. It’s a lovely show full of intriguing works, well worth a visit if you have the time!

I've become particularly interested in the interplay between the underpainting and the top coat of pigment. All the colour areas have at least three pigment layers in fact, so there are some really subtle show through areas which should add a lot of dynamism to the final drawings

I’ve been continuing work on my Balla / linear progression studies this week. This is the 3rd chromatic variation, I'm hoping to complete at least a set of six works before I move on, if at all possible!
