AT says the electric buses are a lot cheaper to run. And they don't smell or make a racket. But they're so quiet I've been about to cross Hobosonville Point Rd a couple of times and been surprised to find one barrelling down the road, nearly on top of me.

Someone replied to me on Bluesky: "There's often a bus plugged into two charges simultaneously all night at my local Z station. Quite weird. Doesn't this bus have a home to go to?"

Wofle Street - along one side of the years-derelict Albert/Federal/Wolfe St site - was closed off the other day, with a fire engine and masked emergency staff in attendance. One of them told me there had been a suspected gas leak. But it turned out to be "just bad smells"

Bit surprised the Commerce Commission gave this one a confidential okay, pre-announcement, given the way it's raked other media deals (Sky/Voda, NZME-Stuff) over the coals.
