Whenever I dictate the word 'missiology' into some piece of computer software it invariably types 'mythology', and I'm now I'm starting to doubt what I'm doing here at all.

Fascinating fun fact of the day!. Vietnam, Egypt, Eritrea, and China all have higher percentages of their population as evangelical Christian believers than any of Spain, Italy, France or Germany.

I learn today that David Barrett, the godfather of religious demography, editor of the World Christian Encyclopedia, and interestingly consultant for the IMB throughout the 80's and early 90s, was an ordained Anglican priest :-).

Found a couple of typos in my doctoral thesis. I will go to my grave convinced that THEY WERE NOT THERE WHEN I SUBMITTED IT!.

The famous '10-40 window' map is one of the most well-known ideas from the past 50 years of global mission thought. But there are significant problems. (by David Onnekink in Evangelical Missions Quarterly - 'How to Translate the Gospel Into Maps')

@allenlyeh Conversely, some potentials errors in Western Theologies that Majority World Theologies can help correct/speak into. Again, not true for all in all places, but a helpful reminder than 'I don't need you' are the most dangerous words in contemporary global Christianity.

What a fantastic, evocative, and exciting description by Harvey Kwiyani of what is happening in (some, urban) parts of the UK today with church, mission and revival. Beautifully expressed, and well worth reading and wrestling with.

From 2010, but even so this is dramatically different to where many of us imagine where most Muslim people live today. 65% of all Muslims live east of Karachi, and fewer than one in five Muslims speaks Arabic.

Fascinating reflections as ever from Ted. Should we be portraying Jesus on screens/images etc? Obviously Christians disagree - strongly - about that question, but he approaches it from a missiological angle.

A list of topics from @allenlyeh that many Christians wrestle with in the West that many Majority World Christians don’t. Not all true in all places of course (suicide, and contraception, were big questions in Uganda), and there's more to add, but this is an interesting list.

OK, just as I complain I test it once more and in fairness, ChatGPT has done jolly well here (Aral Sea slightly too big, but tht's just being fussy, and it did used to be that size I suppose!)

I have tried so many different times with so many different tools with so many different prompts but I don't think I've once got back an accurate AI generated map. Why is AI image generation so amazing at doing so much, but can't handle basic cartography?

Such turmoil in the theological education sector right now. So very sorry to hear this from Spurgeon's, and wishing everyone well as so many people process what this means for them.

I’m very grateful for my interactions with the brilliant staff and students at Spurgeon’s over the years. After 169 years, they are closing. My thoughts are prayers are with them all. This is very saddening to read: .
