If a member of your church were gunned down, and your pastor never mentioned it, would you be offended enough to leave? Of course you would. Well, a member of your church was gunned down. His name was Charlie, and your church is not confined to the lot where you park on Sundays.

Instead, we were met with clueless pastors who thought that the usual football jokes and the wife shopping too much was what we wanted to hear. That our money problems and work issues were the only burdens that we carried into church this week. That we even wanted to laugh.

We were like soldiers retreating off the battlefield in defeat and needed our wounds tended to and to hear a heartfelt message to encourage us to go out and fight the good fight... like Charlie did. That his death was not in vain. That God will raise up other Charlie Kirks.

Many of us walked into church this Sunday burdened by what had happened on Wednesday. Yes, the Ukrainian girl enraged us, but the death of Charlie Kirk left a giant void in our hearts and we struggled with all kinds of emotions... grief, anger, discouragement, and conviction.

Not only that, but he helped steer the election so that we, as conservatives, could still hold onto some of the rights and liberties that were under threat with the Biden/Harris administration. He didn't see his gift and calling as a path to luxury... he saw it as a duty.

While watching their messages the one thought came to my mind... "We didn't deserve Charlie Kirk". He laid his life on the line by going into the belly of the best to reach our lost children and pastors all around the US couldn't spend a moment to honor that sacrifice.

Yes... Totally true! Jesus is the answer and the world is crazy. Amen and Agreed. But then they preached their man-centered sermons. Every one of them focused on the burden that man carries (debt, job, marriage) and didn't address the burden of watching a man shot to death.

All the other pastors did the same thing. Between worship and the sermon, they mentioned Charlie Kirk, the Ukrainian girl, and the Catholic School shooting all in the same breath and chalked it up to "the world is getting crazy" and "Jesus is the answer".
