Roadworkers in Kumeu recently damaged six large Chorus fibre and copper cables. Chorus technicians are working in shifts to restore services. Your internet services should restore without action from you. We're sorry for the trouble this extended outage is causing.

Huge Fortnite update on Friday night caused the largest ever traffic peak on the Chorus network at 4.39Tbps. @FortniteANZ That's an incredible 1 Terabit-per-second more than normal. No issues though because we aim to make our network as #CongestionFree as possible

Great to have more telco services restored in Gisborne and Wairoa today. Helicopters proving a key asset as the Chorus team work in unpredictable environments to get the network back up and running. Still managing to flash a smile for the camera though!

From the air and on the ground, we’re working tirelessly to get whānau and communities reconnected in the Gisborne/Tairāwhiti and Hawke’s Bay regions. But as we’ve all seen from images like these, it’s us versus nature. Kia haumaru koutou katoa

According to Kurt Rodgers, our Network Strategy Manager, there has been a big increase in network traffic due to cyclone Gabrielle. Yesterday's evening peak was only up 8% compared with last Sunday, but total data usage in Auckland was up 24%.

Great to be part of the discussion at the World Broadband Forum in Amsterdam this week. With fibre networks playing a critical infrastructure role in an increasingly digital world, good to share experiences on best way to maintain and operate. #NetworkX.
