chilly day in Hong Kong made me crave raw beef pho. Tried to ask the waitress for bean sprouts but forgot the word in Cantonese so the stranger next to me said it instead. When I thanked him he ignored me and kept eating. I don’t know if I’ll get used to this form of kindness.
