We are sad to share the passing of our dear friend Ada Con. Ada was an inspiring figure in Chinatown and the Chinese Canadian community in the LowerMainland. We thank Ada for all that she has done for us. We are so grateful for the time shared with her. We will miss Ada dearly.⁠

Lord Strathcona Elementary School is the only public school that serves Chinatown and its vicinity. Founded in 1891, it was known as a 'mini United Nations' because of the student's diverse backgrounds but the majority of the students were Chinese.
