Today marks 30 years since Amber Hagerman was abducted while riding her bike near E. Abram St & Browning Dr. Tragically, four days later, her body was found in a creek not far from that area. Her case remains unsolved -- and we are committed to delivering justice to her family.

Officer Smith is the definition of a hero, selflessly placing herself between a gunman and an 11-year-old girl the night she was killed, saving the girl's life. Thank you for your service Officer Smith. We will never forget you.

We don't make traffic stops because we enjoy making them. We make traffic stops because they are one of the most effective tools we have to prevent crashes and save lives. We are fully committed to the goals of the Safe Streets Arlington plan.
As part of the Safe Streets Arlington Plan, @ArlingtonPD has increased focus on traffic enforcement on highways and city streets. This effort is making a difference. As of Dec. 5, Arlington recorded 30 traffic fatalities for the year, a decrease from 2024: https://t.co/UZGVVRvXle

APD, like other departments, has finite resources. And so we don't have a full-time Cold Case Unit. Homicide detectives work cold cases as time permits. That's why we were eager to partner with UTA on this program. These students give us extra eyes, time, and energy.
Earlier this year, APD and UTA launched an innovative new program that gives students the opportunity to review real cold cases in an effort to develop new leads. Their work recently helped detectives make an arrest in a 1991 murder. More here: https://t.co/tE6Qeqz3oP

Since January 2022, we have documented 180 criminal incidents involving members of this gang, including shootings, aggravated assaults, and robberies. Our city is safer with these individuals off our streets. #ArlingtonTX

We don’t do traffic enforcement because we like it. We do it because it is one of the most effective tools we have to change unsafe driving behaviors and save lives. In Arlington, our traffic stops are up. And as a result, we’ve seen fatality crashes drop 19 percent this year.

Operation Safe Stage was a success and I am extremely proud of the work that went into it. We and our partner agencies sent a strong message that human trafficking has no place in Tarrant County, and we will use every resource available to go after those who commit this crime.

This investigation truly highlights the persistence and dedication of our detectives. Sometimes we get that big break in a case right away and other times we don't. What never changes, though, is our dedication to delivering justice to victims of crime.
