Why? Because Ugin isn’t just a deep cut. He’s one of *the* main Dragons in Magic lore. For him to still not have a creature version is wild considering the founding of EDH was based on the Elder Dragons. Players would be pumped to be able to have Ugin as a Commander.

The fact Ugin doesn’t have an “Origins” transform card where he starts as a Legendary Creature - Dragon and transforms into a PW is pain. I’ve been waiting for this for over a decade, and when it didn’t happen in M19 (even though Bolas got one) I was devastated.

Starting Town will probably make Eldrazi land bases so much smoother imo

Blazing Shoal seems kind crazy with Vivi, right?

The Harmonize on Nature’s Rhythm likely makes this one of the single best creature tutors ever printed for combo decks. Expect this to be a choppy-priced card at first; high with hype then crashing as people explore how to use it; then a rebound to a top 2-3 rare in the set.

This card strikes me as the single strongest argument yet for why people speculating on Coalition Victory being unbanned in a few weeks could have legs… it doesn’t win on spot like CV but it’s also 3 mana less and arguably as easy to achieve the wincon conditions.

I love the art. I don’t love that we just got a pretty easily achievable wincon for dragons with zero drawback, eg, you just run this to buff your dragons and fallback into an “oops I win” upkeep trigger 🤦🏻‍♂️

This card is Toxic Deluge combined with a five turn flying clock… might just make Dragon typal viable in Standard. Wow.

The equip cost is repeatable (thanks for the correct @KeiruKeiruRNG), so you can in theory discard your entire hand before you go to combat if it helps fuel delve, and again in second main phase if you draw into a reanimator target for Betor’s end step trigger

If you’re building Betor or Teval I think Pact Weapon is worth a look as a way to trigger life loss (Betor), protect against losing to the life loss (Teval), and to fill the yard (both). It’s pretty cheap in non-foil but the foil does carry a premium on TCG Direct.

Ngl it’s wild to me that cards like Ugin are getting printed now but somehow cards like Coalition Victory are still on the EDH ban list
