ONGOING - firefighters are in attendance at a barn fire in Clotton, near Chester. Eight fire engines are at the scene tackling the fire, which involves a large quantity of hay. Crews will be on scene for some time. Please expect disruption around the A51.

Blue watch have recently completed training with the height safety equipment, practicing a variety of raising and lowering techniques which could be used during life saving operations. Crews were given small scenarios to problem solve and complete πŸš’ πŸ§—πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

Today White Watch have completed a Hazardous Materials drill using Gas Tight Suits and Breathing Apparatus. These training exercises help keep our skills sharp in case we're called to an incident involving hazardous substances or chemicals.

Today, Green watch have been out doing a school visit for year 2 and year 5 today. The kids were shown a presentation on fire safety at home and were shown a demonstration of our smoke tent in action!

Blue watch have completed some Hazardous Materials training, using Breathing Apparatus and Gas Tight Suits to resolve an incident involving an unknown gas. Blue watch also attended an SSRI visit at Royal Mail, ensuring crews are familiar with the risks and hazards present.

Today, Blue watch have conducted some training with our Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP), using the stretcher and stretcher adapter to rescue a casualty stuck in our drill tower. Our ALP operators ensure they practice rescues often to ensure their readiness at incidents.

Blue watch conducted some height safety training involving a person suspended at height. Crews used safe systems of work to recover the 'person'. Crews also conducted some familiarisation on our height safety kit, servicing our equipment, ensuring it is in operational condition.

Today, White Watch visited pupils at St. Theresa's Catholic Primary School to deliver a presentation about fire prevention and what to do in the event of a fire. The students were given a tour of the appliance and had a go in the 'smoke tent' to practice their escape plans!
