A & E departments across England are “in big trouble” due to corridor care becoming “normalised”, a leading medic has warned. Dr Ian Higginson, head of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, said there should be outrage about the number of deaths linked to long emergency

Over 4,000 doctors left the UK in 2024, highlighting a serious NHS staffing crisis. Our NHS is losing talent fast, and if conditions don’t improve, more skilled medics will feel they have no choice but to go. https://t.co/mzm6b9Kd4P

It costs £400,000 to train a junior doctor. But higher pay, shorter hours and days off on the beach are luring thousands to leave the NHS, many for Australia

A fourth child has frozen to death in Gaza in just 10 days as Israel continues blocking tents and winter shelter aid. Not by air strikes, but by cold, rain, and deliberate deprivation.

2026 could be the year to ‘Bring back the family Doctor’ @wesstreeting To do so will require a patient centred GP contract with the vision & resources to genuinely bring quality, safe, focused care This is in the hands of Govt @DHSCgovuk @NHSEngland https://t.co/UPfTw4ec33

At St George’s today, I spoke to a doctor facing an impossible decision. They can’t get a training job. Their pay can’t support their family. So they’re planning to leave the NHS. When doctors are out of work & waiting lists grow, this isn’t bad luck - it’s a political failure.

No, @wesstreeting. Let’s be clear: You’re NOT doing all you can to arm the NHS with the latest tech to manage intense winter pressures. What you SHOULD be doing is using tech to stop airborne viruses spreading like wildfire in hospitals: ▪️Ventilation ▪️Air filters ▪️FFP masks

We've been doing all we can to arm our staff with the latest tech to help handle A&E waits. Changes like these - in use in 50 NHS organisations so far - have helped manage intense winter pressures and ease strain on our staff. https://t.co/5H1pNFQQBW

The Govt’s mandate that GP surgeries provide full time online access appears to have increased waiting times for GP appointments. Who could have predicted it? 🤔 (Clue: every GP). My thoughts on this in the Telegraph today. 👇 https://t.co/W09E4OQlhz

Increasing online medical services, without improving staff numbers, is terrible for patients

1.9million attendances at A&E over 5years Just 65 more GPs employed could have delivered 1.9million appointments over 5years and covered this ‘huge’ number of A&E ‘extra’ attendances Imagine what 6000 more GPs could have done if 2019 Tory commitment had been met ~ 180million

if there’s still liquid nitrogen in the drink when u drink it (bottom of glass? under foam?), it can get into your stomach and expand liquid nitrogen expands by a factor of ~700x when it turns into a gas, so if its in your stomach, it can expand and cause ur stomach to explode

There is no comparison or equivalence between fully qualified doctors (GPs) & non-doctors (ACPs) ACPs do not have the knowledge, qualifications, skills & experience to practise medicine It's unsafe There is no regulation of ACPs as they try (& fail) to practise medicine

Being a GP - it’s easy🤷🏻‍♂️ Minimum 18,000 hours study, hours and training to become a GP Only then can you see undifferentiated (undiagnosed) patients without supervision That’s just the start of a career in General Practice

Countdown to 2026: In April, we uncovered that the competition for specialty training is at record levels, forcing resident doctors to delay careers or consider leaving the UK altogether. We’ve been calling for more training posts, more jobs and better workforce planning. 👉

Declare a bogus ceasefire and watch the world's media turn away. Then keep killing Palestinians, just at a slower, more grinding pace. Keep denying them food and medicine. And keep them living in flimsy tents as they are whipped by brutal storms. That's the plan. It always was.

It’s troubling that after years of hard work and debt, many trained doctors struggle to find jobs. With unqualified roles stepping in, it’s no surprise that doctors are forced to move abroad. @wesstreeting, we need to address this to keep talented professionals in the system.
